Cutlery rests for an elegant dinner
The processes of shaping and colouring the brass cutlery rests remain traditional and simple, yet long. It is a series of old and modern techniques that utilize the corrosive nature of copper and brass. By using natural ingredients and heat the artists develop playful patterns, and textures.
One by one, the items are individually and meticulously worked. As a result each pattern is as unique as a fingerprint.

For over 400 years, in Toyama prefecture, artists have masters metal casting and colouring using only simple tools and simple methods.
