Taking full advantage of the “katamono” crafting technique, this Japanese Tea Caddy will charm you with the contrasting colours.
The outer cylinders of cherry bark, walnut, cherry blossoms, and maple were cut into four rings, rearranged, and placed over the inner cylinder. The materials for this premium tea caddy are, from the top, cherry blossom, plain cherry bark, maple, and walnut.
This is one the master craftsman original Japanese Tea Caddy designs, which uses a new manufacturing method while taking advantage of the characteristics of the "shaped" technique, which is made with an outer cylinder and an inner cylinder.
Depending on moisture level the rings may seem a little apart sometimes. This is normal, as the materials used to make this are all natural. The item changes depending on the environment as if it had a personality of its own.
