HANAKATSU Weighted Kenzan for Ikebana
A weighted Japanese flower holder for positioning stems in ikebana and other arrangements. Brass pins hold the plant material while the lead base provides weight and a soft elastomer underside helps reduce slipping against the vessel.
Choose the size according to the vessel and the weight and height of the material you plan to arrange. Larger, heavier bases generally provide more support for larger arrangements, while the Small size takes up less room in compact vessels.
Materials
- Pins: brass
- Base: lead
- Underside: soft elastomer anti-slip base
Sizes
- Small: Ø61 × H22 mm, 250 g
- Large: Ø80 × H21 mm, 490 g
- Extra Large: Ø90 × H25 mm, 620 g
How to use
Place the kenzan carefully in a suitable vessel, add water, and press the prepared stem straight down onto the pins before adjusting its angle. The pins are sharp, so handle the kenzan carefully and do not drop or drag the weighted base across a delicate vessel.
After arranging, rinse away plant material and allow the kenzan to dry before storage.
