Japanese bonsai tools are designed around specific jobs. Use bonsai scissors for fine branches, leaves and buds; branch and knob cutters for controlled branch work and concave cuts; root cutters for roots and thicker material; wire cutters for bonsai wire; jin pliers for bark work; and tweezers for moss, buds, weeds and roots.
Choose the tool by the work you need to do. Specialist tools such as trunk splitters and Satsuki scissors are intended for particular bonsai techniques.
