How should I clean and store Japanese secateurs?
Remove sap and dirt after use, dry the tool thoroughly and keep carbon-steel surfaces lightly protected with suitable oil before storage. Do not leave the tool wet or store it with plant residue on the blades.
Can Japanese secateurs be sharpened?
Yes. Good secateurs are designed to be maintained, but sharpening should preserve the existing cutting geometry rather than changing it.
