Five copper coasters, coloured by the metal itself
These Orii coasters use a thin copper surface over a wooden base. Each colour is created through Orii's metal-colouring process rather than ordinary paint, so the surface carries tonal variation and a slightly different character from piece to piece.
How they feel
- Light but not flimsy: each coaster weighs about 40 g.
- Flat and stable: 90 × 90 mm with a thickness of about 5 mm.
- Mixed materials: a very thin copper sheet forms the visible surface while the wooden base keeps the coaster light and protects the table.
What changes when you pick one up
The colour becomes easier to understand in motion. Rotate the coaster and the hand-coloured surface catches light differently across the copper. The effect is closer to patinated metal than a printed colour.
At the table
The five-colour set works as a complete group or as individual accents around the table. Use them under water glasses, sake cups, wine glasses or coffee cups where the copper surface remains visible around the vessel.
