Refund policy
At Suwada1926, we represent generations of Japanese craftsmanship.
Each product is carefully inspected and packaged to preserve its integrity and long-term durability.
Please review the conditions below before requesting a return.
1. Right of Withdrawal
In accordance with EU consumer law, you have 14 calendar days from the date of delivery to request a return.
To initiate a return, please contact:
Include your order number and reason for return.
Returns sent without prior authorization will not be accepted.
Refunds are processed only after returned goods are received and inspected.
2. Sealed Precision Grooming Tools
Precision grooming tools (including nail nippers, grooming scissors, and similar personal care tools) are shipped inside protective wrapping that is sealed for hygiene and product integrity.
This protective wrapping includes a tamper-evident seal placed at the opening point.
If the protective seal is broken or the wrapping has been opened, the item cannot be returned under the right of withdrawal, unless the product is defective.
This measure ensures product hygiene, customer safety, and preservation of craftsmanship standards.
3. Condition of Returned Items
For products eligible for return, items must:

Be in the same condition as received

Be complete with all accessories and documentation

Be returned in their original packaging

Show no signs of use beyond what is necessary to inspect the nature, characteristics, and functioning of the item as would be permitted in a physical retail store
Customers may inspect products carefully. However:
Any handling beyond what is necessary for inspection may result in a proportional deduction reflecting the diminished value of the product.
The following may result in a partial refund:

Scratches or visible wear

Blade dulling or deformation

Staining, residue, or odor

Signs of repeated use

Improper cleaning or sanitation

Impact damage or misuse

Missing components or documentation

Damaged, defaced, or incomplete packaging
Original packaging is considered part of the product’s value.
Packaging that is torn, written on, crushed, or otherwise unsuitable for resale may result in a proportional deduction.
In cases where returned items are rendered unsuitable for resale due to misuse or damage, the return may be refused.
Returned items may be photographed and documented for quality control purposes.
4. Health & Hygiene Products
Sealed goods that are not suitable for return for health protection or hygiene reasons cannot be returned once unsealed after delivery.
This applies specifically to sealed grooming tools and any sealed personal care products supplied with a tamper-evident protective wrapping.
5. Return Shipping
Unless the item is defective, damaged upon arrival, or incorrect:

Return shipping costs are the responsibility of the customer.
Original shipping costs are refundable only where required by applicable EU law.
If your order qualified for free shipping, no shipping cost was charged, and therefore, no shipping amount will be refunded.
6. Partial Returns & Free Shipping Threshold
If a partial return reduces the remaining order value below the free shipping threshold applicable at the time of purchase, the standard shipping cost corresponding to the remaining order may be deducted from the refund.
7. Inspection & Refund Process
Once your return is received:

The product is inspected.

Its condition is assessed.

You will be notified of approval or any applicable deduction.
If approved, refunds will be issued to the original payment method within 14 days of receiving and inspecting the returned goods.
Please note that financial institutions may require additional processing time.
Refunds are not issued before goods are received and evaluated.
8. Legal Guarantee
All products are covered by the EU legal guarantee for conformity.
This guarantee covers defects in materials or workmanship that existed at the time of delivery.
It does not cover:

Normal wear and tear

Blade dulling from regular use

Cosmetic scratches or surface aging

Oxidation due to environmental exposure

Damage caused by impact, dropping, or improper handling

Improper maintenance or cleaning

Modifications or attempted repairs

9. Exchanges
We do not process direct exchanges.
If you wish to receive a different item, please return your original purchase (if eligible) and place a new order.
10. Dispute Resolution
We always aim to resolve matters amicably.
