A Japanese tea caddy made from cherry bark and natural wood. Its knobless inner lid is made using the katamono technique: the inner cylinder is cut so that one section becomes the fitted inner lid.
The polished cherry-bark surface retains natural knots and pattern variation. Its appearance can deepen and develop lustre with handling over time.
