Made of sustainably sourced soft ayous wood, it is dyed and treated for longevity in a small factory in Shizuoka, Japan.
Treating, folding and making products from wood has deep roots in Japan. The material is warm and creates a nice atmosphere around it wherever you place it.
Mr. Saito makes peaceful objects and the Japanese wine rack is one of them. Other creations include Japanese wine racks made of different kinds of wood as well as dry paper baskets for home and office.
Usually people look at the content and not the object holding the content. Mr. Takuya Saito, third generation owner and master craftsman, is determined to change this. His creations bring the object forward, turning your attention to the container rather than its content. The craftsmanship and the beautiful wooden fibre are the first impressions, making this a valuable addition to any interior. The Japanese wine rack is one of his most famous creations in Japan, decorating the interior of many offices, lobbies and bars.
They bring a grounding sense you often only get in small bars in Tokyo, or in traditional Onsen. It's a kind of grounding aura that benefits both the owners and the guests.
