SUWADA Bonsai Scissors

Compact Japanese bonsai scissors for fine pruning and everyday tree maintenance. Use them for thin branches, leaves and new buds where a smaller, lighter pair of scissors gives good control around the plant.

The compact form is suited to detailed work on bonsai and other potted plants rather than heavier pruning.

Questions about this tool

Which bonsai tools do I need first?
For basic maintenance, bonsai scissors are the natural starting point. If you wire trees, add a bonsai wire cutter. Specialist tools such as branch cutters, knob cutters, root cutters, jin pliers and trunk splitters become useful when your work actually requires those operations.
Bonsai scissors or a branch cutter: what is the difference?
Bonsai scissors are for fine pruning such as leaves, buds, shoots and small branches. A branch cutter is a specialist tool for removing a larger branch close to the trunk while leaving a controlled concave cut. They are complementary tools rather than substitutes.
Carbon steel or stainless bonsai scissors?
Traditional high-carbon steel offers the classic tool construction and should be cleaned, dried and lightly oiled after use. High-carbon stainless steel improves corrosion resistance while keeping a similar cutting role, making routine corrosion care easier.
