Waarschijnlijk het meest verbluffende petty mes
Nashiji is een traditionele mesafwerking, geïnspireerd op de schil van de Japanse peer. Elk mes wordt met de hand gesmeed en gehammerd met behulp van een oude techniek om deze uitstraling te bereiken. Elk mes is anders, omdat het onmogelijk is om opzettelijk een identiek patroon te maken.
Het kernstaal is blauw papierstaal (Aogami 2). Dit verwijst naar het oude systeem van het classificeren van staal in Japan, niet naar de kleur van het staal. Het is vergelijkbaar met het oudere witte papierstaal (Shirogami) maar met toevoegingen van wolfraam en chroom. Dit resulteerde in harder staal, betere snijrandbehoud en minder brosheid.
De handvatten zijn gemaakt van natuurlijk kastanjehout en worden ook met de hand gevormd met schuurpapier. Naadloos hanteren in verschillende posities maakt dit mes geschikt voor elke hand.
De messen worden afzonderlijk gesmeed, geslepen, getest en verpakt in de Tadafusa Open Factory, in Sanjo, Niigata.
